Who We Are
Experts since 1905
In 1905, Max Paul, our founder, started a small bicycle repair shop in Old City Philadelphia. Max had immigrated from Russia and was trained as a coppersmith so when the automobile explosion of the 1920’s occurred, he was uniquely positioned to expand his services. Some of his early offerings included fire and horse carriages for the city.
Our company has survived World War I, the 1918 Flu Pandemic, the roaring 20’s, the Great Depression and World War II. During the most trying times our founders always believed in doing whatever was necessary to support their employees and did not furlough any employees.
During World War II, Paul Bros. became an important part of the local war effort. Harry and Edward converted the production area into a machine shop dedicated to producing airplane parts. With many of the Paul Bros. employees overseas serving their country, the focus of the company was focused on helping our country win the war.
Paul Bros. continued to be a recognized leader in collision repair in the metro-Philadelphia area and with the establishment of Central City Toyota in 1969 we are the oldest Toyota collision repair facility in the area.
We continue to be a major contributor to our local West Philadelphia community and have established a local community park for our neighbors to enjoy company sponsored events at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
